Case Studies
Case 1

Guam Surgicenter
The radiation oncology department at Guam Surgicenter was flooded following a typhoon in June, and they lost everything. They purchased a Halcyon from Varian to get back up quickly to treating patients. The site does not have a permanent physicist onsite so AOS came right after installation and completed the commissioning in 36 hours.
Case 2

Calgary Cancer Center
The Tom Baker Cancer Centre (Alberta Health Services) in Calgary, AB, is relocating to a new state-of-the-art facility. In 2022, seven linear accelerators (linacs) were installed, with the new center set to go live in 2024. Due to resource constraints, the customer’s physics staff were unable to commission the linacs while managing their existing clinic. AOS stepped in to commission all seven linacs, ensuring the new center will be fully operational and ready to provide top-notch care.
Case 3

Brest
The new machines have been installed and commissioned without any downtime, unlocking shorter treatment times and offering high-quality patient care. AOS facilitated the rapid commissioning of the TrueBeam linacs and established the digital workflow for the new machines. Representatives from the core team and AOS monitored each case using the new system, troubleshooting and assisting staff as questions arose.
Case 4

UPMC
The UPMC Hillman Cancer Centre in Waterford is enhancing cancer care in the region supported by two new state-of-the-art radiotherapy machines which will enable cutting-edge cancer care for patients.
AOS helped with the rapid commissioning of Truebeam linacs and established the digital workflow for the new machines without any downtime. Representatives from the core team and AOS monitored each case using the new system, troubleshooting and helping staff as questions arose.
